You can add a tracking number to an order and notify the client using this feature. The benefit is that it will automatically generate the correct link of the carrier along with the tracking number for your client and email it to him. The link will take him to the shipping carrier's tracking page, to show him the status of his shipment and location of his package.

To edit/view the current carriers

  1. In the admin area, navigate to Design > Blocks > Add Tracking Numbers To Orders.
  2. You can view the carriers by clicking on the Carriers tab.

To add your own carrier

  1. In the admin area, navigate to Design > Blocks > Add Tracking Numbers To Orders.
  2. Click the plus button.
  3. Add the company name on the left.
  4. Add the URL with {tracking_number} at the end. You may want to ask us for help for this part or you can test it on your own.
  5. Save.

To modify the template that appears when viewing an order

  1. In the admin area, navigate to Design > Blocks > Add Tracking Numbers To Orders.
  2. Click the Order Comment Template tab and edit the text in there.

To send the tracking number to a client

  1. In the admin area, navigate to Orders > View Orders.
  2. Click on the View/Update button for the order to which you want to add a tracking number.
  3. Scroll down to Order History > Add Order History.
  4. Choose a Carrier and add the Tracking Number below it.
  5. The Comment box will be automatically filled with your template and the Notify Customer checkbox will be checked automatically.
  6. Click Add History.
  7. An email will be sent to your client.
